You didn't say which pump you have but, even the Carter Competition Series and Billet Series pumps don't need a regulator. These pumps do have the -10 inlet where the lower series pumps only have 1/4 NPT or stock fittings. If you aren't using a Competition or Billet pump you won't be able to utilize the flow of a -10 line. Your combination shouldn't need it anyway. For track work I would run a fuel pressure gage in the dash. IMO the fuel pressure gage is more important than the tach.
