Thumbs up WSCB 2006 - Track Day Announcements

Hi Folks,

I wanted to make some general announcements as we begin to plan out our schedule for the WSCB-Track Day!!!

In order to maximize our time at the track on Friday, we will be doing tech inspection at the Nugget Garage Thursday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm for as many folks as possible. If you can’t make that time, we will inspect your car Friday morning at the track upon arrival. There will be two or three of us doing tech. 50 or so cars will take some time and I want to make sure we have time to look at each one. We will be referring to the check list included with your Track Day Registration forms but here are some basic things you can check before you arrive:

Vehicle Body – all panels and latches attached and operational.

Suspension- Steering, Tires and Wheels Inspected, safety wire if applicable.

Roll Bar- Make sure you have a roll bar (cobras) and that it is properly mounted to the chassis.

Braking System - Inspected for wear and safe operation.

Axles and CV joints – in good repair and properly fastened.

Fuel System – functional and w/o leaks.

Electrical System – Battery secured and no loose or exposed wires.

Exhaust System – functional and securely fastened.

Cooling System – system full and free of leaks and Anti-Freeze ( typically anti-freeze is a big no-no on the track. If you get busted for having anti-freeze, you may not be allowed on the track. I would recommend running distilled water and Water Wetter just to be safe.)

Belts, Hoses & Filters - in good repair.

Misc. Fluids – Inspected and filled to recommended levels.

Seats and Seat Belts - proper type and securely fastened.

Steering Wheel - securely mounted.

Mirrors- securely mounted.

‘In-car’ devices - properly mounted. (no hand held cameras allowed in vehicles)

Loose Items- Removed from Vehicle trunk and passenger compartments.

Engine and Engine Bay - inspected for fluids, leaks, and to ensure that all fasteners are tight.

Helmet(s)- not damaged and of required safety/agency rating.

Help us make this a safe event by having gone through this check list, and the one on your registration print-out, and make sure everything is in good working order.

Again, we want to get tech inspection out of the way on Thursday so I’m hoping you all can make it, even if I have to crawl around your car with a flashlight!

Thanks, John
