Thanks for thinking of us Boxhead, things up here, as you know are really bad. We are kind of lucky. We lost a lot of stock and a lot of buildings were damaged, however we are all alive! Others lost everything and I mean everything. Houses, new and old just dismantled. Cars squashed by trees that are so big and old that I would have bet my life on them NEVER falling over.

It is a war zone. Army, navy and riot police are everywhere to keep the population in control. Black hawks and hercules aircraft bringing in supplies. As you can imagine there is no way to get money (no power or phone lines for electronic payment) so people are doing anything to get supplies, and of course those who did not take precautions before are the first to want aid.

As I say we are lucky. We have to create our own electricity for the farm and have several 75kva+ gen sets. We have power and hot water. The rest of town still has no power for probably the next week. We have been told to expect mains power in 6 weeks time! I'll just keep filling up the gens.

The only reason we have internet is because I set up a satelite BB connection. No landline telephones work or digital mobiles, however CDMA is passable. And with all this rain any smart COBRA driver would just leave their car in the shed.

Post some pics when I can

P.s> The trucking company which damaged my Cobra was going to pay me 'something' however during the storm period I have found out that they have gone into liquidation.
