sounds like "RK" flat missed things on the clearances. The .0025-.003 range applies equally well to BBCs or anything other than Cup style motors with Honda or Quad 4 journals.

As to center vs. side oiling and BBC vs. FE rod journals - - I still don't go for big oil pressure numbers. The vast majority of the FEs I've done over the years have been very conventional - and I've never really had any oiling related issues. Now we could talk about rocker shafts, piston ring grooves, and those pesky mid-beam rod failures - - I had a really serious nitrous habit for a while there......
