We've been running our ignitions this way since 1978..... it's a good way to go because you don't have any fluctuations or movement in the timing....
If the motor is hard to start ....then go with a Start Retard box from MSD.... that is what we are using.....
We run 36*degrees with a 25*degree retart up to about 1200 rpm's then 36*degrees
