I had one back in '63 and they used dual-point with centrifugal advance. I currently have a '66 sideoiler in my cobra and also am running the original FOMOCO dual point setup. Have had it for almost 3 years and have not had any trouble at all. It fires and starts on the first hit and it'll rip your head off under full acceleration just like they are supposed to do.

I don't think it is that hard to find experienced mechanics who know how to setup the dual point system. Most anyone who has built high performance or race engines should be able to help you out with setting dwell on the dual points. I'm sure a tune up manual is available to get you started if you want to tackle it yourself.

"Keep it original, man!" Once it goes modern it is difficult to go original.
