I installed an oval air cleaner on my ERA. I also have a 428. It takes a little work, but it is not hard.

First you must cut out a portion of the underside lip on the hood. There is a diagram in the ERA manual. I was skeptical about cutting the hood, but it wasn't hard.

I also bought a blank steel bottom plate from Tony Branda. The usual aluminum bottom plate was just a little too thick, and caused the top to rub on the hood.

The blank steel plate is very thin. I cut out the opening to fit on top of the carb and two holes to allow the float bowl adjusting screws to protrude through the base.

I also fashioned my own hold down bracket using strap iron and some bolts.
