It's so easy to get a SB100 number I can't believe how people carry on about it. The steps are well know and being at DMV early on the 1st of January really isn't very hard. When your done any work you ptu it is nothing compared to trying to pass a smog test every 2 years. Randy is right there are many people in the BACC that have gone through the process. I also have not heard from any members of this forum that wanted a SB100 number this year , went to DMV on the first day and didn't get one.
