I see what your saying now. I didn't know it could be switched like that but it makes sense.
I guess you learn something new everyday!
Which ever position would make it the farthest towards the rear would be the best IMO. On my car, (I have a 600 RR also) the shifter is a little too far forward when compared to an original car. I suspect most replicas are similar so I'd say back is the way to go.
