I too have a MKIV without side marker lights. My car #1055 also came without a 302. In it's place a 427 side oiler was installed at the factory. It is the only one to have a 427 installed at the factory and shipped that way, according to records that SAAC has in the registry. Other MKIV cars that have 427 engines in them were installed after they were shipped to the US. I think that the MK IV is a lot more pleasent to drive then ether my CSX4000 car or my CSX MK II. I have enjoyed reading these threads. Bob G.

By the way, SAAC says the AC MKIV "is not an original Cobra and it is not a replica. It had the right pedigree,...... These cars were very close to original 427 Cobra specifications. It could legitimately be called an AC. Ford granted (Brian) Angliss the right to use the name Cobra on his cars-everywhere except in the U.S. The AC MKIV is an exciting car in it's own right and is arguably as close to being a Cobra as is possible without the Shelby American pedigree." There is a 1986 AC MKIV for sale on eblay right now. A great price for an aluminum bodied AC.
