I don't remember the exact draw but it is about the same as an electric fan, about 3 amps, I think. The really nice thing is that it pumps full volume even when the engine is idling. Also the pump isn't spinning at a rediculous level when the engine is being reved to the limit. Nice even coolant flow all the time. The front of the engine looks very neat and clean with just one very short belt to run the alternator. The initial cost is a little bit expensive but no regrets.
