That is a great method. My original ceter bracket was quite small ,2" wide and close to the glass frame. I'm using the adjustable tensioner that I bought from Finishline. The tensioner lower bracket is two inches wide chromed angle with tapered ends. I'm leaning towards a new seperate center bracket only wider (3 1/2" ) and a little deeper to get the screws that go down into the cowl away from the glass frame, not out as far aways as your example, and again two 10 x 24 rivnuts in the cowl . So I'm planning on my new bracket with rubber grommetts and the tensioner lower bracket over the grommetts. If I hadn't already gone with this stuff I'd likely coppy your bracket and fixed tensioner.
