Bitten indeed!
Bud, I can't thank you enough for taking the time (and gas $) to come all the way out from your neck of the woods and not only give me a ride but LET ME DRIVE!!!
I would have filled her up for you, but I was so excited when we pulled into the Chevron that you were about to let me drive, I totally forgot my manners.
I had the time of my life yesterday, despite my injuries! I managed to keep my calves off the pipes, but I forgot to put sunscreen on the tops of my knees and when I was giving Brit a ride, I went to turn around in a cul-de-sac and forgot how little elbow-room there was, whacking the tip of my elbow right on the top edge of the door!
It was easily worth every bit of pain!
We rode up 575 to Ellijay and then over and down to Jasper, down highway 53 back to 575. It was a great cruise, with the sun on my face, the wind in my hair, those side pipes reporting with everything from a mellow rumble to mellifluous roar, and people practically breaking their necks to turn and look! I had a blast and got a lot of good brain-picking time with Bud. I am already refining my FFR in my head! (of course I have been doing that for years, but now I have some ACTUAL SEAT TIME!!)
Again, I can't thank you enough, Bud, for taking the time out of your Memorial Day weekend (and the time out of your life to serve our country!) to come and take someone you have never met or spoken to for a ride and drive in such a beautiful car!
I have some pics on the computer at home, I will post them when I get a chance.
Thanks again, Bud!!
