As promised, here are a couple more pics from my birthday:
Getting instruction on how to properly mount the snake (notice cool white towel in left hand to prevent the searing of leg flesh. I have had leather seats before!):
The seatbelt in my Civic only has one buckle. What are all these parts for?
Woohoo! Let's go!
I wish I had some pics of my smiles during the ride. It was great! Bud was a great host and driver and the car was more than I had imagined it would be. The ride was smoother than I thought it would be. The power steering could definitely be described as "twitchy" at first, but it got easier to drive after a couple of miles. The pedal-box is narrow. I could barely get my fat New-Balances in there and hit only one pedal at a time. The manual brakes were scary at first, but after a mile or two, you don't even think about having to press the pedal harder, you just do it. Bud assured me he can lock them up. The car cruised so nicely that I was always suprised when i looked at the speedo. It didn't feel like we were going as fast as we were.
All said, Brit and I can't wait to have one in our garage. Now I just have to convince her to help me build one ourselves.
