Yes, I agree with Ford about remote oil filter systems adding restriction.

I had -10AN hoses and switched to -12AN and picked up a few PSI.
I replaced my canton oil filter adaptor and remote filter mount that has 1/2" NPT ports with new a system that was designed around full size -12AN fittings. This pic compares the my old canton adaptor with -10AN and my new adaptor with -12AN.



I also use an oil cooler bypass valve which allows me to turn the oil cooler on or off as needed by turning a lever. With the bypass valve installed, I can watch the oil pressure drop about 5-8psi by turning the oil cooler on or off. I didn't realize that the oil cooler had so much restriction.


Here's my system:






-12AN from the engine to the remote filter and bypass valve. Then I use -10AN from the filter to the oil cooler.
