Depends on the ignition and compression ratio. If using a multiple spark discharge it will range from .030 for a 12:1 or higher to .040-.055" for a 10-11:1 motor to as high as .060 for a 9:1 motor. If you are using an old school points or petronix you might want .030". Follow your ignition manufacturers guidelines you will be fine.
