I really hated driving around at night because of the dash mounted rear view mirror. With the headlights behind me at the same level as my mirror, it was like looking directly into the sun.
Did a search for a day/night mirror and found nothing.
Many times I just turned the mirror away so I did not get the welding flash from the headlights. Not too safe!
So I disassembled the mirror and added some window tint. Wow, what a difference. In 6 months of driving, I have NOT adjusted the mirror at night.
