Find another station to do the process. They obviously don't know what they are doing for Cobras. As MrMustang pointed out, there would be no VINs on the motor or trans, as Ford doesn't do that (on those years of parts). You could just say that you bought the motor and transmission as "crate parts" through the Sunoco station as if they were ordered through the Motorsport catalog. But yeah, find another station that has a clue.
