Not walnut, but we did a mahogony dash on the old blue cobra.
Matched it with mahogony steering wheel, gear stick knob and handbrake handle, indicator knob etc etc.
We used a solid piece of mahogony so we could recess the gauges into it.
The glove box lid is actually cut out of the different piece of wood, it was a big hassle, as we had to find a piece that had the same matching grain & figure(swirl).
Doing it again we would probably get more routing done to give it more features.
It was stained to match the steering wheel. We actually did it lighter as UV exposure darkens the timber. After 6 months it matched perfectly and stayed that way. Had 2 pac clear on top, same as used on the car.
In this photo the dash looks a little different in colour, but with the same light, everthing still matches, even today.
