I just replaced the old clutch in my ERA with a McLeod setup. The Throwout Bearing is near the Tremmec (only slightly forward of it). The lines fall at the aft edge of the Bellhouseing (also McLeod). I use a homemade clamping device. A piece of .25 thk alum strap is anchored to the lower tranny bolt location. Another piece of strap is mounted vertical with two clamps that hold the hoses. The two pieces of aluminum are connected with a threaded rod and using 4 nuts (two for each aluminum piece) you can adjust the position of the hoses so they are just in front of the bellhousing cutout, well away from the pressure plate. Some heater hose around each tube prevents fraying on the bellhousing edge.
Unfortunately I have no pictures. When assembled it looks like a cross with the hoizontal part coming off the tranny bolt and the vertical part holding the hoses. The two pieces have a fair distance between them.
A picture would sure help.
Anyway whatever you do don't let the hoses get near the pressure plate.
