Some guys use the shorty headers, some use a cast centre outlet manifold like the truck ones. The burn factor you already mentioned, the earplugs that the sidepipe guys wear for any long trips is another consideration. The side pipes exit just by your ear. The battery as Ron mentioned is inside the right front fender just forward of the footbox. The gas tank for the street car is smaller than the SC's (18 gal vs 42) and has a spare wheel tray over the top of it. I've been making street tanks to original specs from stainless. See my gallery for more info and dimensions. Saltytri's car is a sweet example with the Ceandess fuel filler cap without the recess. It's the nice touches like that for us street guys that make all the difference!
