It would not be that hard to get a dodgy exhaust made up to get through rego.

It does not seem like a big deal, certainly not worth sending your car away to Perth for.

I would suggest you talk to Jeff at GT Sports Cars. He is a club member and seems to have a good idea of how to get around this type of thing.
