Thanks guys. I work with this computer just about all day long but rarely have any time or interest to "play" with it. Or, maybe I just lead a sheltered life.
I never reply to any unsolicited emails of any sort. There was (probably still is) a scam whereby people would receive an email that appeared to be from their bank asking them to click on the link which took them to their bank's site (bogus of course), at which time they were asked to enter account info, PIN, etc., "just to make sure that the bank's info was correct". Bingo, the bad guys had all they needed to access those accounts. I think that this is called phishing. This eBay scam sounds similar. I am surprised that eBay has not set up more security as these scams must be hurting their business.
I like the guy who placed a bid of $10 million for one of these bogus too-good-to-be-true car auctions on eBay. Possibly a good way of warning unsuspecting bidders that this is a scam.
