A great ride.
Started in New Jersey and took rt 287 to Harriman State Park to the Bear Mountain Bridge. Then onto 9D. 9D runs along the Hudson and is very scenic with old estates and an occasional Getty Gas station. To head up to the Taconic I hopped onto route 303 most of which disects another state park so there are very few intersetion to be concerned about. Posted 55 mph speed limit on a 2 lane road. Rare speed limit on those roads in the are. Onto the Taconic Parkway for aobut 1.5 hours. Newly repaved with no more concrete surfaces. Fantastic scenery, weather and virtually no traffic. . Exit the Taconic Parkway onto a state road 295 that connects up with rt 22 that heads into Vermont. Last leg was up rt. 7 where I connected with rt 11 to go up into the Green mountains/Stratton area. From there connected up with Rt 30
Spent the week running around the last 2 highways and taking runs up to the Stratton mountain ski area.
Took the same route home with equal conditions.
