It's been a long time....
....since I've been in a Cobra. 1965 to be exact, I was 9 years old. The brand new Cobra was sitting in the showroom of Chase Morseys Paradise Ford in Scottsdale. My father Bud Beck was General Manager of the dealership and I had gone to work with him that Saturday. While he worked I stood in the showroom drooling over the little Cobra. Observing this, when it was time to go home, he took it off the floor and drove me home in it. Wow, it sure was a lot more fun than the Ford Country Squire station wagon my mom drove me to school in every morning. That ride and that car have been etched in my mind ever since. 3 years later Bud Beck built a Pontiac-GMC dealership in Scottsdale and when I was old enough to drive it was GTO's and Trans Am's. But the holy grail of automobiles to me remained the Cobra and the GT40. I'm 50 years old now and 6 months ago I purchased '06 Ford GT #589. Last week I found the Cobra I've been looking for. Kirkham #304, 427SC, Shelby aluminum 427FE, stainless steel frame and all available Kirkham options. I flew to Texas to look at the car and the test drive was my 2nd ride in a Cobra, it had been 41 years since the first. I know most of the Ford GT owners in AZ and I look forward to meeting the Cobra owners. Here's a photo of my new Cobra.
