uh....not totally correct.

The 'first' built 427 (CSX3002) used a wide-fendered 289 race car body that was widened an additional 2 inches along the tops of the fenders. It did have a forward braced roll bar. The quick fill was located on the right rear fender. 3002 was a prototype because the body buck at AC for the MKIII was not complete at the time. From CSX3003 the MKIII body buck was used.
Now, you might be thinking about CSX2196. That's the leaf spring car that had a 390 installed and then a 427. It became known as the "turd" or the "flip-top" Cobra.
