I seem to have an issue with fuel supply. One of the first times I had it out, it stalled on my and would not start for about 10 minutes or so. It was a warm day, and I was idling in construction traffic (the best place to become disabled)
It has done this a few times since. I changed the in-line fuel filter just upstream of the mechanical fuel pump. I have noticed some consistencies when this is happening. It seems to happen when idling for long periods. It seems to happen more when the gas tank is full. When I am having trouble, the fuel filter is over 50% air.
Thinking about vapor lock (hadn't heard that phrase in a while)
I rerouted the fuel line and clamped it up off the intake manifold and replaced the hoses while I was there. At one point, the day after I returned home with it running bad, I pulled the line off the fuel pump, and it did not flow. I opened the gas cap, and put the air hose in the line and gave it a squirt. Even with my friend holding a towel over the opening, gas flowed out over the fender
anyway - the odd thing was that gas started flowing, and I put the hos back on quickly, but surprisingly, the gas level in the filler neck did not receed until we we moving. It started again, and I tried just opening the gas cap thinking it might be a vacuum situation, but no avial.
Any ideas?
