To my surprise, my wife was the one that missed the Cobra.
After selling our Cobra we went out looking at cars, Vipers, Vetts, and 350Z's. We both really like the 350Z in many ways better than the Viper or the Corvette, but lets not go there. Maybe somewhere down the road if I ever get a three car garage - -- -.
In one short week we made our decision of what vechicle was going to replace our cobra, "Oboy". Having initially thought a Viper would fill the void. We drove a Viper and ride was bouncy to say the least. Not bad, but high dollar cost. We found we rather look at Viper than drive them or own them. Then we drove a Corvette, we felt it was harder to get in and out of than my Cobra was with the top up and didn't have the power I was a looking for, I know, what about the Z06? It was out of the question as its roof doesn't come off. Also I didn't want to buy a car the doesn't hold it value as good as a Cobra.
Then my wife said, "I really miss the Cobra". So I said then lets get a another Cobra, like a new CSX or Superformance, OK? She agreed. Wow, I almost fell over. I really wanted to get a CSX Cobra in the first place. And in checking into a CSX, the 4000 series were $50K for a roller in fiberglass set up for a big block. They told me it was costly to install a small block in these cars and if I wanted a small block I should consider a Superformance. Well I knew I wanted a small block 427 and it would be either a Roush or KeithCraft motor. I had been looking at the Cobra Keith had for sale, the one he ran in London. This one was set up just as I would have wanted it to be and the color was great, black with a titanium strip.
Well, our new baby arrived Friday evening about 7pm. It was a beautifull 2400 pound baby boy. We name him "Oboy II" for more details see the web site my son put together for his new brother - -
