Sorry to hear about your loss.
We had to put my 11 year old Sheltie, Alex, to sleep about two years ago. It was one of the hardest things we had ever done, we still miss him today. He was my little buddy, now his ashes are in a nice oak box on the mantle. On the box is a plague that reads "Alex - Forever in our Hearts" along with a picture of him. He was part of the family.
About two weeks later, we adopted a stray Collie that needed a good home & reminded me so much of Alex. We gave him a good home & in return Robbie (our collie) helped us through that difficult time.
