No. These are not my people,
these are Polo/America's Cup people
and they are not here that often.
Dave, the coupes that are in Arizona are both in the Airpark.. One is owned by Walton, the other by Bernie Carl, the attorney. The other 4 are not in AZ. There is a McKluskey Coupe on an original 289 chassis in Vegas with Mr.Shelby. A good re-creation I might add...
My friend Phil who has worked on both coupes and a real S/C that is in town (as well as installing all that stuff in my Mustang) informs me that there may be 5 Cobras on Bethany Home but that the person he knows there would have cars in need of "restoration" ie rough...
Honestly, most of the real cars will disappear from sight in the not too distant future. They are difficult to insure and most owners do not want people to know what they have or where it is garaged. Theft is a major problem... If you get to Boulder on a Saturday, you need to go to the museum. It is pretty incredible and it gives you a feeling of awe if you were a car nut when you were a kid and saw these things on Wide World of Sports telecasts.. That is really the only place to see the cars close up. I have been to SAAC and Monterey too, but the milestone cars are mostly in Boulder.
