I've purchased a used SPF with a 460 SVO engine. Aluminum super cobra heads, mid rise manifold, and pretty much stock from there. I know one of the previous owners (I'm the 3rd) ran it hard. We have evidence the first guy blew the clutch and bell housing up thinking he was a race car driver. I had a mechanic pull the
oil pan chasing down an
oil leak when we found 2 small dents in the
oil pan, from the inside. (OK, give me a break. You can't find these things when test driving a used car) But everything looked fine inside the engine, and the car runs great. There is a "MSD 6AL" ignition box under the dash, with an insert tab that reads "7000". That's the rev limiter, correct?
I thought the limits for these 460's was around 5500 to 6000 rpm. What is everybody else doing?
Thanks
