Ah, what better way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the ought-six. Sounds like you have some nice shooters there.

Dad has one varmint gun in 6mm with a custom stock and Mauser action. Rolled and tapered barrel. Nice flat shooting gun. Very little kick too with the little 6mm and a heavy stock and barrel. For deer I still like the lighter 760 Carbine. It is pump action so the forestock has no effect with weather changes. Of course I was only shooting under 100 yards most of the time, so a tack driver like yours would be overkill.
