I have to agree with those above regarding gear wear and
oil. I know of more than one Cobra owner who insists on using 20W-50
oil, not running a thermostat and not covering their
oil cooler on colder days. The result of this is a lot of stress on the distributor gears and poor cooling and lubrication of the engine.
When it's on the street it should be treated like a street engine. Riding around on a 45 degree day with the coolant at 140 degrees and the oil at 120 degrees (before the cooler) cannot be healthy for the engine.
