460 build-up plans/layout?
Hey everybody, Just found the forum and it looks like the place I may get answers to my predicament. My A/C was bought used and went away with the divorce so I moved to the opposite end of the spectrum. I'm in the process of severely customizing a 66 Continental. It originally came with a 462 and first year C-6. I aquired a '75 460/C-6 from an LTD with 60,000 miles as a donor. I wanted to know if anybody has low-budget, tried and true combinations for the 460 that will get it into the 500-650 HP range. This is going to be a cruiser and I would like durability and "cheap" power over all but with a curb weight of 5200lbs. I'd like to have a bit of motivation too. I can't afford much at the moment but I'm fair at hunting down parts and pieces and a build that could stage out (rotating assembly first with the stock intake and other stuff just to get it moving again, doesn't have to run right) would be ideal. PerfectionI know it's a lot to ask, that's why I posted here. Just as a side note, I'm anticipating shaving off close to 1200lbs. just by removing/replacing the sound-deadening material and a few select non-essentials (even more considering I'm bagging the suspension and chopping the top 4 1/2") so that would hopefully add to the general zip on this land yacht. The quicker I get this finished, the quicker I get another Cobra so any help is appreciated. I apologise for the ramble.
