A "Motor" or "Chilton's" manual for the year engine you have should also list all of the smog equipment that was required for that engine. Except in California where 1966-1971 engines were required to have aftermarket NOx reduction devices installed (not sure if these are still required or not). Years ago all local librarys used to have these manuals available for lend.
