I was at the drags last weekend with an SPF owner who has M/T ETs and 3:73 gears. He got into the high 10s with a 427w and no power adder. very quick car.

It was painful to watch his launches due to the extreme wheel hop in first gear. I don't know the SPF solution, but I can tell you I've seen this and it is violent.

I do not think a change in gears or tires is the solution. I suspect rear end geometry is not optimized and needs to be revamped.
