You may be right about the "out of sequence" thing, but my understanding was that the last of the numbers were gone by noon-ish, and I don't know of anybody who got a number the next day.
There was a thread like this last year, and some of us reported back our findings after the big event. I haven't looked for the thread, but again, I believe all numbers were spoken for fairly early in the day. Additionally, there were rumors that blocks of numbers had been set aside for the larger commercial interests (Boyd Coddington, etc), as well as friends and families of state politicians. This might help account for the apparent hopping around of numbers.
In anycase, I would definitely not count on any SB100 numbers being available the next day...the trend from the beginning was that the numbers were getting used up earlier and earlier each year, to the point that they are now gone the first day.
