Cure for the twist
The previous owner of my Superformance tore the rear lose by dumping the cutch while running slicks. Dennis Olthoff explained to me that this was not uncommon and suggested this fix. This is my interpretation of what I thought he meant. I only braced the right side bracket because that bracket seems to buckle due to the gussets being on the wrong side of the torque pressure from the rear. I simply welded a nut into a pipe, and then welded the pipe in place above the bracket so that it stopped against the cross-member. Instead of passing the bolt through the bracket and into a nut, it now threads directly into the brace (nut welded inside). This should stop the rear from turning and collapsing the bracket.
