Mano and Sal,
Manowar you shocked me a bit with feeling the Accusump or other oiling device is not a benefit. Do you not think they are a value or did you just not get around to installing?
I always use a system although not the Accusump brand it does the same things and more. My main belief in unit is the value of pre-pressurizing the engine before each start up. Second benefit although rare to be used is the insurance it will add pressure while killing ignition and fuel pump if oil pressure from engine is lost. We simply add a few pressure switches in the feed line to turn on a big red light and turn off fuel pump and ignition.
I have had 2 people come back to me singing the praises of what they and I think helped save $$ repairs. One was a sheared oil pump drive shaft and second was a broken oil filter fitting. If nothing else the red light was a benefit and know you can do just the red light.
The key to what I use is a true zero leak down solenoid. All the others I tried would leak down all the oil pressure in moments to a couple hours but this one has lasted a couple of months without loosing a pound of pressure. We put one on a motor-coach that sits for many weeks before being started again so was getting dry started before this.
