Coach Mike,

We use regular old wheel bearing grease on the JBL slip fit headers.

Just glop it on and start the engine and let it run long enough for the smoke to stop and cut it off.

Note: The fits have to be good and a true slip fit. IE: .015 per inch Dia. clearance max. (This is the standard as used for piston aircraft exhaust systems and works well so far on mild steel headers. If you use Inconel, the clearances can be tighter and you need no grease.)

I would check your fits and adjust to the above numbers. Any good muffler shop will be able to do this for you..
