You will definitely be going the SB1578 route, to bad you were not in line on Jan2, now you will have to wait until next year. What you want now is to get you TOP from DMV, then get an appointment with CHP to check the VIN number. That will take maybe a month to get since most CHP sites that do that only do it a couple times a month. If your TOP has run out go back to DMV for another telling them you need to go to BAR for the smog test. You will fail, all this time you are driving the car. If you are lucky you can go back after you fail the smog test and your TOP has run out and ask them for another TOP saying you are attempting to pass smog. IF your lucky you can get 6-9 months of driving on these TOP's. Then get in line next Jan and get your SB1578 smog exemption. Much easier if you had bought a SB100 car, there are quite a few on Cobra Country. Good luck.
