Dean...I know exactly what you mean! I was driving along down a major East-West thoroughfare in Memphis a couple of years ago, on my way to Home Depot. There was a flatbed bob-truck pacing me with several Hispanic folks on it, along with a load of mulch, some wheelbarrows, and the tools needed for that sort of endeavor...I'm sure you get the picture. They were all pointing at my car, waving, chatting excitedly, etc....including the driver! We were approaching a stop light, but since there was no one in my lane, I didn't slow down since the light had changed green. Folks in the other lane were already pulling through the intersection, so I knew I could keep on going. Too bad the truck load of yard workers didn't notice the ragtop BMW 3-series stopped in front of them. Sure enough...I kept going....they kept looking....BAM! Right into the back end of the Bimmer. Slung a couple of the workers off the truck....some of the mulch, etc. 
I just kept on going....
