Nope! I registered in April of 2006, and all they did was look at the VIN plate that my kit manufacturer sent me (Factory 5), and then reviewed my documentation on the VIN of the engine I used (donor Mustang 302). That was it. Very quick and painless. They didn't even ask me do show them headlights, turn signals, brake lights, horn, etc. I don't know what county you live in, but I live in JO Cty. In this county, there is only one inspection station that inspects "Specialty Constructed Vehicles". It's at old 56 Hwy and K-7, just East of "Go Chicken Go". Very small building. If memory serves, they are only there for a few hours 2 or 3 days each week to inspect kit cars.
