DEAN'S LIST
Heavily invested
Auctioneer names the collector cars most likely to grow in value

"Time to dust off the crystal ball to learn what will be the wisest investments in collectible cars this year."

As always, Dean Kruse, proprietor of Kruse International, the Auburn, Ind., auction house specializing in collectible cars, is doing the dusting to come up with his annual "Dean's List."

"After noting demand and price activity at auctions in the last year, Kruse has compiled his picks of collectibles he expects to appreciate most in value this year."

"Here are his choices and comments for 2007:".....

he listed 10 cars, I am not sure if the order had any significance but nuber 10
listed was... "Shelby Cobra replicas",
Others... 1932 Ford V-8 Roadster, 1953 Bel Air Conv., 1954 Vett Roadster, 1971Mustang Boss 351 Fastback, 1972 Camaro Z28

"Shelby Cobra replicas: This is the first time I've ever recommended a replica car. Why a replica rather than an authentic Shelby Cobra? Because you'll spend $250,000 to $350,000 for an authentic one, and a replica that runs as well, if not better, saves lots of money. Replicas have been built since 1984, but the 1965-67 Cobra replicas built in the last 10 years are the best. I'd recommend one professionally built rather than a do-it-yourselfer. The most desirable engine is the 427-cubic-inch V-8. Two years ago, you could buy a nice one for $20,000 to $25,000; last year it was $25,000 to $30,000. By the end of 2007, they will bring $35,000 to $40,000. Some of the "Shelby Authorized" versions that are near perfect will bring more than $100,000."
