Richard,

the tow hooks on mine have been used for towing and they are tough as nails. Make sure you protect the tie down straps from the edges of the tow eyes as over that distance, you will need to be aware of chafe.

I also used a secondary 'safety' through the wheel to the front and rear of the trailer. Again, wrap the tie downs so you don't mark the wheels
