G'day gang

A few more pics of forward movement.

Of recent times have completed the oil system for the car. I have both a remote cooler and oil filter so have had significant expense in those pretty red and blue ali fittings and braid.

Pic shows the remote filter location and braid line.

Was lucky in that the standard AU hydraulic lines could be reused to feed to the cooler in front of the radiator. You can just see these under the fan belt near the bottom of the engine, they are black wrapped hose. Of course I used the obligatory braid in the nose cone. You can also see the primary fuel filter affixed behind on the engine bay.

With all this gear in place I was able to manually turn over the engine to get oil throughout so I know all systems are running. When I quick the engine over in anger I also know there wont be any great oil feed lag, I hope!

Have also finished off the front end of the cooling system, well almost, have a few brackets to make. But thermo is in place as are hose connections to the block and radiator cap. I also have a thermo thermostat I need to fit in place but this will happen soon.

Pic shows cap fixture which is a morosso fitting and I thought a simple way of getting the fill point high compared to the engine.

Have also just finished off all pedal operations.

Brakes are live, bleeding care of my trusty 11 year old, think I wore out his left leg. No leaks once again but it is a bit of a bugger to get to those back brakes with the body on!

Also extended clutch cable attachment point to give me more adjustability. You can see I had to extend the pedal via a lever through the top of the leg well to enable a pull on the cable but it's such a simple system and not too savage on the left leg. Have also made the accelerator cable connections, black line running through the pic. and have managed to get all the pedals in good positions for my stumpy legs.

All this has allowed me to start in the cockpit proper as I need to get my layout sorted before my sparky returns so he has something to wire up.

Pic shows the narrowed MX5 seat, the 4 spoke momo wheel, el cheapo gear lever boot and general lever location and the standard GF dash that came with the car. Am planning to probably relocate the two larger gauges to the left of the wheel so both can be seen better.

Not easy to see is the central windscreen attachment and I've got the wipers all working and parking at the bottom of the screen. Though I did have to take a small nick out of the top of the middle wiper blade to stop it belting the top of the screen rubber on its way through.

Anyway I'm pressing on towards electrics with help from a sparky. I've also been sourcing cheaper Lucas indicator and stop lights c/- Ebay and raiding the local pick a part wreckers for bits, so I'm getting there slowly!

Anyway happy reading and viewing.

Cheers
