To tell you the truth, my SPF has the battery in the trunk. It has a nice cover over it. I've never had the cover off in 2 years of ownership! But I'm sure the "engineering" of the battery hold-down and support brackets are "top shelf". Everything else in the SPF is top notch. So if my battery falls out on my next ride, I probably will not post it here!


I still laugh every time I think about a battery falling out and dragging it along the road. I should not laugh about somebody's misfortune, but ....

I've owned quite a few $hitboxes with hundreds of thousands of miles, but I sold a 70 Chevy convertible to a friend about 1980 for $300. He drove the car about 20 miles and one of the front tires fell off. Not just the tire and rim, but the front ball joint broke and then the lower one broke! He drove it about 1/2 mile to a junk yard and left it there! He had to call his business partner to get a ride back to work! We still laugh about it!
