This is what I did on my FFR. I cut an access hole in the trunk directly over the recommened batter placement behind the rear end. It is exactly the size of the battery box supplied by FFR. I had to remove the center 3/4" square tube but I replced it with two 3/4" tubes and riveted the box to both the for and aft tubes and the two cross members. I then put the standard tray under the box just to be safe. It also requires a door which you can fab from the piece you cut out of the trunk floor.
