DJMaree,
I am from the Killeen-Fort Hood area and am currently deployed to Iraq. I am having BDR#499 built now (it should be ready early next month) and went with Jay and Vintage Motorsports.
Before I made the plunge, I watched this forum for many months...Watching and listening. One thing I came away with was how quickly Jay would jump in to help a car owner (or just someone with a question). He didn't care what brand, or dealership the person may have purchased their car from; if Jay could help, he did. That impressed me.
Just before leaving for Iraq, I made trips to the Seattle and Boston areas. While in Seattle, I visited Park Place and looked at a number of Superformace cars. The guy I delt with at Park Place was pleasant and knowledgeable. The cars were very nice, but as a government employee, would really push the limits of my budget.
While I was in the Boston area, I went to Vintage (about an hour or so from where I was). I got there early Saturday morning before the shop opened, so I went to a fast food place and got a cup of coffee. When I returned the shop was open and three guys were inside with a number of cars. As luck would have it, customer has a Superformance in there with an
oil leak, so I got to compare BDR and Superformance, side-by-side.
I started talking with Jay and told him who I was and what I was looking for. There were somethings about the SPF I liked such as the fresh air vents and gages. I asked Jay if I could get the things I wanted in a BDR. Some of the mods I wanted had to be installed in the factory and jay said he would check. Within two days I had my answer, and my mind was made.
All of my transactions with Jay have been handled long-distance from Iraq, from my downpayment, to where we are now. I can say this without reservation: Jay has been the BEST dealer I have ever worked with. He has gone the extra mile to accommodate my special circumstances. If he is this good from 7000 miles away, I can only imagine what he is like if you are down the street from him (I know you are not).
I think we should try to convince him what a good business decision it would be to open a second shop out Texas way!!
Go with Jay and Vintage and you won't be sorry!
