If 82 were a well known racer that the 'Old Man' would personally build, document and sell an engine to for his specific GT 500 I would agree that such a non original engine would certainly add great value to the car. In the real world 82 is probably just like you and me, a hobbyist with a real neat toy. Unless the block is total toast, rebuild it (could be a lot cheaper to do as well). The big buck GT 500 that you linked to at BJ would have been gone over with a fine tooth comb for it to reach the numbers it achieved. Didn't hurt that Shelby was there to document and build excitement for it either. That car was better than new.
